A quiet, pretty hike. The old growth forest is impressive, although the prettiest part is on the Quinault Rainforest Loop and Nature trails, before you veer off onto the Willaby Creek spur. The best part is the solitude — we saw zero other hikers on this trail. (And the abundant spiderwebs were evidence that none had preceded us today.)
The trail was quite narrow in places, but mostly flat, and easily navigated. (Thanks, Gray Wolf trail crew!) Trail is well signed and impossible to wander off of. Slightly damp, but not muddy. In wet season, this would be a mudfest and I would not have enjoyed it. Lots of mushrooms. We encountered one medium-sized banana slug, but few other slugs. Heard quite a few woodpeckers and calling birds. We saw a few bugs, but did not get any bites.
The ending of the trail at the creek is a lovely spot.

As a point of clarification, clearing this trail was the work of the Gray Wolf trail crew. Thank you for the kudos.
