A foggy day in Chinook Pass-- never saw the mountain-- proved to be the perfect day to enjoy the wildflowers at our feet! We've never seen so many asters. Combined with the paintbrush, arnica and valerian, the meadows were brilliant with COLOR!
We hiked the trail clockwise and encountered a lot of other day hikers plus three work parties (thank you for the work you do!) and lots of mushrooms. Everyone was enjoying the day. Our highlight was chatting with a thru-hiker (this is part of the PCT!) from Chechnya trying to navigate the many fires in Washington.
Our hike took close to four hours as we wandered, took pictures, and enjoyed conversations!
