Trail is dusty and dry, so pebbles (especially in the final mile) are loose. Watch those footsteps on the way down! We had the summit to ourselves for a couple minutes, then some other hikers joined us. Not many flowers blooming along the main trail, but we took a bit of the cable line trail for a short bit to see some very tall foxglove.
What was plentiful: HUCKLEBERRIES!!!! So, so many ripe huckleberries. I wish I had a tub to forage but we made do with occasional handfuls and left the rest for others (and the bears). Didn’t see any bears this time, but I know they’re out there, so keep your ears open.
More people out than I expected on a Friday morning at 6:30am! No one passed us on our way up, but many people were already returning from the summit.
A fine day out despite the smoke in the air!
