Been wanting to come back here since I first did this hike 2 years ago. Today was the day! The access road is in good shape, my trusty Corolla carried me up no problem. The road is narrow and there are blind curves so don’t go tearing down the road.
It’s a tough trail but well-maintained and easy to follow. The bugs were hugely annoying but I don’t have any bites. The views were sublime.
Mostly backpackers today, only a few day hikers like myself. The privy smelled horrid but had toilet paper!
