Big Hollow — Saturday, Jul. 27, 2024

I hiked Big Hollow to its end on the Observation Trail, then turned right to the top of the hill and turned left on the well-trod but unsigned trail to Sister Rocks. About 4 miles and 2600 feet. Forest Service has cleared the trail of logs this year and added a log bridge on the first Big Hollow Ck crossing, which was often a wet ford till late season. Bugs are almost done for the season here, only a few left. It is an eroded loose trail for a long ways due to the Big Hollow fire in 2020, but you do eventually enter blissful green forest with a much better tread.
