Arrived about 9 am, Thursday, with the mountains in a cloud/fog. There was plenty of places to park, and when we arrived at the lake there were plenty of camping spots. There's lots of tent sites father back from the lake, though the meandering trails made it a bit tricky to find a secluded place to do bathroom activities. We never saw a privy or any signs towards one, just had lots of hope no one would surprise us! For how busy the area was I'm surprised there wasn't one/or it wasn't marked better.
My 7 and 10 year old did great on the hike into Sheep Lake and had a blast once there. There's lots of rocks to climb on and the water was warm.
The nighttime/evening temperature was cooler than we anticipated. That plus a group of loud kids who yelled and ran around until 10 pm, plus an air mattress leak, led us to leave a day early.
The hike out Friday afternoon was much more crowded and the parking lots were very full with people also parked along the roadside.
A great easy family backpacking trip.
