Trip Report

Wallace Falls State Park — Thursday, Jul. 4, 2024

Central Cascades > Stevens Pass - West

I got to the trailhead parking lot just as they were opening at 8:00 AM. There were several other cars but plenty of available spots at that time. This was my first time on this trail and my goal was to reach the middle falls. There were a few other hikers as I started from the trailhead but they were all ahead of me as I took a leisurely pace. I had my film camera with me and stopped frequently to take photos. I was mostly by myself on the trail until I reached the lower falls and the covered picnic tables. After a snack break, I continued my way up and reached the middle falls. The view made for some great photo ops!

The trail was mostly clear of debris. But I did have to be mindful of rocks and roots along the trail. As I made my way back down to the trailhead, many more hikers were making their way up. I got back to the parking lot around 11:40 AM and it was completely filled up. Pretty cool to see so many people getting outside for the holiday!
