A friend and I started the hike mid morning on Sunday and reached the lake in about 2 hours. It drizzled on and off through out the hike so the bright side was the bugs stayed away.
As many others mentioned there are two trees down but they are relatively easy to get over (and if I remember right there is no snow near either of them).
There is still a good amount of snow on the trail and shoes with proper traction are a must. Be careful where you step on the snow fields, many spots look solid but are hollow underneath. Due to the snow melt, there is a good amount of water on the trail and getting down to the lake was a mix of snow, slush, mud, and flowing water. Hiking poles proved helpful on this section for stability and testing out how deep the mud puddles were. There is a good chance at least one of us would have slipped with out them.
The views were spectacular and it was a great hike!
