Dash Point State Park — Monday, Jun. 10, 2024

Puget Sound and Islands > Seattle-Tacoma Area
Dash Point State Park by Anna Roth

The WTA comms team went on a team hike here a couple weeks ago and I'm just catching up on our trip report!

The trail was nice, winding through lovely forest l, and climbing much more than I expected. Having a map and a mapping app was key - intersections are marked but its unclear which ones lead out of the park and which connect without a map.

After a short woods ramble, we headed to the beach for lunch and a wade. There were many more people than I expected for a Monday, all enjoying the sunny weather. We saw crabs, a seal, plenty of birds and a few of us were lucky enough to see a flounder. Yay for that extreme low tide!

You were in our "neck of the woods"! We have never hiked the area, but maybe we should try it sometime!

It's a great little trail - quite a bit steeper in some areas than I'd expect but the forest is SO nice. Highly recommend.
