This is a great beach hike! We planned on hitting it at low tide, timing it between the wind in the morning and the rain in the afternoon. We did get a lot of wind at the beginning, it seems to be stronger nearer to the dog park. This beach is mostly a sand beach, with rocks and seaweed at low tide. Try to walk this one at low tide when you can get down to the rocks to see the intertidal life. Be sure and look at the bottom of the rocks where the water line is. Watch where you step so you don't step on the crabs or anemones that are in the sand. We saw a lot of sea life: tiny crabs, anemones, sea stars both orange and purple, little turban snails, limpets and clams sticking their necks out and squirting us. The best of the spots are further past the off leash area marked by windsocks, about a mile down. Loos were serviced while we were on the beach so in good shape now.
