**Only made it about 2.5 miles.
Patchy snow began at the trailhead; knee-deep snow and post-holing, especially in the afternoon was common. From mile 1-2.5 the snow was waist deep in most sections.
There were with hazardous sections of thin snow bridges over creeks and streams (with a 3+ foot drops in some areas into running water). Most of these snow bridges were long and unavoidable, please use extreme caution if attempting this hike and be sure to stop and listen for running water under the snow.
It was a warm sunny day in the valley, but it was actively snowing with windchills in the teens while on the PCT. Check mountain weather forecasts before venturing out to ensure you are getting accurate information for the area you are travelling to (see links below). Remember to continuously evaluate your objectives and turn around if conditions worsen.
