Lovely afternoon ramble along the Middle Fork on a sunny Earth Day. Since we got a late start, this trail, with its south and west facing path, gave us more access to the sun than the Middle Fork, so we turned right after the bridge. Hiked to the confluence with the Pratt and explored a bit. The first spur off to the right led to a lovely sunny spot with great views and access to the MF river. The second led to a campsite.
Lots of wildflowers -- trillium, bleeding heart, salmonberry. A lot of variation in the micro-environments too, which was neat. Lovely views of the river and Granite Mt.
While this is a relatively flat trail both Alltrails and Strava showed some elevation gain -- 700-900 ft. About 7 mi RT.
Remarkably few people, but that's what the MF seems to be known for. S'ok with me :)
