Trip Report

Cashmere Canyons Preserve — Friday, Apr. 19, 2024

Central Cascades > Leavenworth Area
Enchantments, from the top

This preserve is such a gift, especially as other canyons in the area, like Olalla, are fully privatized.

We hiked the Sunrise trail in the afternoon.  Balsamroot abounded and the views were stunning all the way -- from the soft rolling canyonlands on the way up to the Enchantments from the top.  Some wind at the saddle, but otherwise very calm.  Trail is a steady but gentle uphill with one short steep section at the top.  Alltrails said 5.8 mi with 1755 EG.

Only a few people on the trail this sunny Friday.  Facilities were clean and well stocked and parking was easy in the trailhead lot.

Hills were studded with balsamroot
Flowers from the start
