Great hike on a sunny day. The trail was smooth and easy to follow through to Grand Prospect. There are flowers but it’s more like a cute sprinkling of them here and there-pinks, yellows, and whites.
The turnoff to Stan’s lookout is earlier than 2.5 miles - by my sunto more like 1.9. It’s at a 5 or 6 way junction with biking trails, and the sign to it isn’t facing the uphill hiker. We weren’t paying attention and blew by it on the way up.
A man at the top told us that a half mile beyond Grand Prospect is another view w Rainier. We had our 5 year old in tow and knew that adding more mileage was not going to happen, but we were sad to miss it.
