Trip Report

Grays Harbor National Wildlife Refuge - Bowerman Basin — Saturday, Apr. 13, 2024

Southwest Washington > Long Beach Area
Boweman Bay

Walked the paved road from the gate to the trailhead, and out and around the boardwalk loop.

Road Conditions. Paved road and parking lot, as you might expect for the "only jet-capable airport on the Washington coast". But no toilets...

Trail Conditions. Flat, no obstacles, lots of benches.

Highlights. Some ducks and songbirds. Tide was still too low (4-ft) to get a close-up look at many shorebirds.

Crowds. Quite a few cars in the parking area at 2:30pm; encountered a dozen or so parties on the trail (most equipped with binoculars).
