The dirt road was pretty bumpy on the way there, but the hike was amazing. We got to the top in 3 hours, and it was pretty steep. We brought micro-spikes, but didn’t need them. I counted, and I took only 35 steps in the snow. I highly recommend poles as the trail is really steep on the way down, and there were about 1.5 dozen (18) trees that had fallen down on the trail and were relatively tricky to get around, over, or under. We saw many flowers, including wild orchids, and trillium. The view at the top was amazing, we could see Cle Elum Lake, Kachess Lake, and Lake Easton. Sounds like a great hike! Nice to hear that some of these high-up trails are finally melting out. Thanks for the trip report.
