The cool spring weather made perfect conditions for this hike. There were lots of wildflowers along the trail and on the canyon slopes. The stream bed looked dry at the beginning, but then we heard and saw water for a while; then it went underground again. Some of the stream crossings were dry while others had some water, but they were not a problem. We hiked about 1.6 miles up the canyon, then came back. The wildflowers on the canyon slopes after around MP 1 were so pretty. We didn't see any snakes or ticks, or any large animals, just squirrels and birds. We'd like to hike this trail to the end another time.
