We had a lot of fun, on one of my last hikes in Washington because were moving due to work. Trail in excellent condition, snow-free all the way till the treeline at 4,800, where a small snowfield covers the trail but is easy to cross because it's shallow, it will be gone by early June.
After the small snowfield, the trail is completely snow-free until 5,500. These small snowfields/ big snow patches are receding, they will be gone by early June. All the other mountains in the area are buried in snow.
I listed the snow conditions as " Intermittent snow- not hard to cross", and while they were intermittent, they were not easy to cross although we never put on our gaiters because we were already really close to the ridge. From the ridge, we scrambled up Peak B, a slightly smaller peak west of Tyler Peak.
It didn't take more than ten minutes to scramble up Peak B from its west face. The west face is only a class 2 scramble with occasional spots of class 3 that are doable. When we got to the top of Peak B, the air temp was probably around 40, but the windchill was in the twenties.
We managed to hunker down behind boulders at the top to stay away from the frigid wind. At the top, we could see Canada, Dungeness Spit, Vancouver Island, Protection Island, San Juan Islands, the Strait of Juan de Fuca, Mount Baldy, Buckhorn, Inner Constance, Mount Townsend, Blue Mountain, and the list goes on and on.
We were fortunate to have the clouds above us or else we would have had whiteout conditions with no views as in the last trip report. Speaking of the last trip report, Mike Groenewegen made an excellent trip report on April 30th. We didn't go over to Tyler Peak for many reasons.
We were really cold on the ridgetop, the wind was howling. The snow conditions didn't look that bad but were running out of time, and the views on Peak B were about the same as Tyler Peak. If you have any questions write them in the comments.

Great trip report! Thinking about doing this one next weekend, anywhere to set up a tent on the way up to B this time of year or with a bit more melt?
Thanks!

I would wait maybe just a few more weeks, anything June 1 or beyond should be fine, the top of the ridge has a very large cornice covering the Only flat-spot around Peak B, halfway between the trailhead and the ridge there is a major creek, with a small flattish little camp spot right after the creek bed, that might be a nice spot to camp.

If your thinking about camping near the creek May I ask, how big is your tent, because the spot near the creek is small and partially uneven.

I think I found you a spot, I added a new fourth photo and it looks like a great camping spot. This photo was taken on the north face just below Peak B.

Thanks so much! It's a pretty small tent so not super worried about that! You've been a great help!

Just to give you a perspective of where that spot is, the tallest crag you see in the fourth photo is Peak B summit.

When the trail is covered by intermittent patches of snow like that, it's better to just walk on the snow instead of the nearby plants

There was very little vegetation at this time of year, however, it won't be long until things sprout.

What do you think is covering the ground in all your photos? Walking around these small snow patches helps wear new paths parallel to the existing ones, which is how you end up with multiple/braided paths all over the mountainside.
I don't usually call people out in their trip reports but while it's one thing for you to do it, it's quite another for you to encourage everyone who reads your trip report to do so as well.
While I'm at it, I'll add that there does not appear to be any good camping spot in that fourth picture for you to recommend to qmackay, unless you are directing him to camp on that snow. Maybe I'm missing it, but I do not see any durable surfaces in that photo.

I apologize then, but I also did mention this is one of my last hikes in Washington.

The principles apply everywhere. I hope you didn't understand my messages to imply that I don't want you hiking in Washington or can't wait to get rid of you. Tons of people do this kind of thing - you see these braids all the time - so I was just hoping to use the opportunity to raise awareness (for you and for anyone else who might see your trip report or read your suggestion) that staying on the snow when possible is far preferable to walking around every little patch.
Looks like you actually changed out a few of your photos now. These ones are very nice :)

I agree about the photos, they are much better than the other ones. I wish I could post more than four because we also saw a snake on our hike.

Could be wrong but I believe you can embed photos in the text editor!

In the first photo, the trail is directly behind us, we weren't sitting on the trail because that would be rood to the other hikers.
