Big Butte Lookout — Sunday, May. 15, 2022

Walked up to Big Butte today and poked around.

Lookout is still sitting on the ground. Some wildflowers are blooming, and there’s a bit of snow nearby down the road (more than last year around this time). The hillside is a lot greener this year, which made for pretty scenery on the drive up (gotta love those hairpins from Asotin!). Not sure how much longer the snow might last, given that it was mostly just present on the road, but hopefully the area won’t be as affected by fires this year…

Visited Antoine Butte afterwards and looked at the Mount Misery Mushroom Hunting map! Will have to revisit sometime in the mid-fall to go scouting around 🍄!
