Round Trip: 16.8 miles
Elevation Range: 3820′-7940′

Route

  1. From the old road, go cross-country to Eightmile Ridge at 5080'.
  2. Follow the ridgeline north and climb Burch Mountain.
  3. Continue east through Point 7482, then north to Little Fool Hen Mountain.
  4. Return to Point 7482 and go east through Point 7497 to the top of Obstruction Peak.
  5. Traverse south below west of the crest to reach Mount Barney.
  6. Descend south-southwest ridge to meet Falls Creek at 5000'.
  7. Walk up to the 5080' saddle and drop 1300' to NF-5130.

Highlights

  • Spotty views on Burch Mountain, better luck on Little Fool Hen Mountain
