Not So Sasse Peak — Saturday, Feb. 12, 2022

Snoqualmie Region > Salmon La Sac/Teanaway
CleElum River Sno Park

People in our party today got ticketed for parking here at the CleElum River Campground.

The ticket erroneously stated it was "French Cabin Sno-Park" but that motorized sno-park is further down and across Howson Creek.

It turns out that this CleElum River Campground has been designed a "temporary sno-park", even though there are no signs or postings identifying this change.

The trip itself was nice. We originally wanted to do Not-so-Sasse, Sasse and Howson as a loop, but the snow conditions along the ridge would have made that tricky so we had our lunch at the summit of Not-to-Sasse and admired the views before heading back.

https://www.snowrec.org/salmon-la-sac says you need a Sno-Park permit anywhere past the "Last Resort" (presumably the permits pay for plowing the road). But there's no mention of this at https://www.parks.wa.gov/438/Blewett-I-90...
