We hiked the Jolly Mt Road today for an hour. We drove up about two miles, parked, and hiked up and back from there. This road makes a great hike on a clear day because it offers great views west and north. After morning rain today, it started to clear as we were hiking. We got glimpses of snowy mountains like Lemah and Daniel. The snow level on the slopes around us looked like it was about 4500 feet. There is still some fall color around and there are a few larches here. Also, there is plenty of evidence of the 2017 Jolly Mt Fire in the burnt and blackened trees here and there. Once, about 3 years ago, I saw a wolf chasing an elk across the road as I was driving down. We saw no other people, or wolves, in the area today.

I’m so stupid. I had no idea we have wolves here!

Wolves
Yes, there has been a Teanaway pack now for several years. Sometimes they come over the ridge to the Roslyn area where I live, and have been seen around here. Several years ago, one was shot at Salmon la Sac in I think December. 🙁 What’s wrong with people? Guess it make them feel tough.
