If you plan to see the larches, don't wait till the weekend, do it on a weekday, I think they won't last much longer.
Went for the larch march on a Monday to avoid the crowds, got here at 11:20, and was able to find a parking spot on the opposite side. The parking was still full on a weekday though, but the trail wasn't that crowded, many people were there but still was able to get quiet time for taking pictures.
Went counter clockwise, there is a reason why a lot of trip reports suggest this route, the first 4.3 miles of the trail is 180-360 degree views all around, only the first mile is covered in the treeline, the ascent is gradual, the gradient isn't that high. This part of the hike actually felt moderate due to the low gradual ascent. After reaching the top, it's all downhill from there, about 3 miles and this part doesn't have the same open views, like treeline blocks views and also switchbacks that are not facing the lake views or anything like that. It's also steep so knees could feel it, and the terrain is uneven, with lots of roots and rocks.
If I ever do this trail again, I will head counterclockwise for 4 miles and then turn around come back the same way, to enjoy the views twice as much.

I’d say you timed that hike perfectly with the display and weather! That first photo is breathtaking, and the quality and steadiness of your videography is very sharp.
