Although its not officially fall until tomorrow, it definitely felt like fall is here at Mt Rainier. I arrived at Sunrise around 7:00am, just after the alpenglow had faded off the mountain. Should have set the alarm a 1/2 hour earlier. The light was still nice on Rainier though. I probably have a couple dozen shots of Rainier on my memory card, as I kept turning around and taking another picture all the way up to Dege Peak. I still made it to the top by 8:00, so I decided to hike down the other side to Sunrise Point, and then on to Sunrise and Clover Lakes. The smoke that had been present on my last several hikes seems to have cleared, and I could see Mt Adams, Goat Rocks, Mt Baker and Glacier Peak. Mt Rainier had more snow than it had the last time (two weeks ago) I was at Sunrise as well.
