Loved driving along the Old Cascade Highway - but never did see the sign for FR 6710--but guessed at the turn, and it turned out to be correct. We found the Martin Creek trailhead parking area and it was empty at around noon. Started out on the lower ADA trail and then took the trail spur to the upper trail. Mostly easy climb through forest and lovely distance views of the mountain hillsides. Didn't find the path (near WindyPoint) that connects down to the Red Caboose Interpretive Center, so we just walked back the same way we came.
We are attempting to learn one new plant on each hike---this one was the New York Aster which is currently blooming. Lovely day!
