This is a beautiful trail. The road leading into the Deer Park ranger station where we started was in good condition. Please drive carefully on this windy road with some blind turns. The restroom at the trailhead was clean and stocked with toilet paper. Make sure to bring a light/headlamp going into the restroom if you prefer to have some light inside. Trail started downhill a few hundred feet before going steeply up mixing with some flat sections. Spectacular views along the way and at Maiden Peak even in the smoky weather.
