I LOVE this hike. It is such a crowd pleaser. My friend flew in from New York to do a girls trip and I know this hike is just long enough to make you feel like you worked for it, but not long enough to make you super sore for the rest of the day. Plus you get amazing views of Rainier.
As like everyone says - the road sucks.
Only negative things I have to say about this route is the amount of people that also love it and the amount of leash reactive dogs on the trail. If your dog does not do well with other dogs, DO NOT BRING YOUR DOG. This is too busy of a trail to deal with that. As for crowds, it was unfortunate how many people got there on Friday night and already were having a hard time finding a camping spot. We tried to help other groups but spots around us filled up fast.
