I was thinking this over the other day. Was on trail back in the 90's but there was too much snow. If I'd only known back then the road would be closed some day...oh well. So you can't bike to the trailhead? I wouldn't mind giving it a go by wading upstream. Good intel!
I seriously considered biking it, but the two miles of tank traps to the Greider TH dissuaded me. You'd have to ditch the bike there and walk the rest of the way anyway. It would be a long, tough day hike - it's listed as nearly 14mi RT, most of it on very overgrown trail. Probably way down the list of DNR priorities.
