Tolmie State Park - Four Cedars Trail — Wednesday, Jun. 23, 2021

Olympic Peninsula > Olympia
Old growth 4-Prong Cedar and Arched Red Cedar

23June2021 WED ~10:30, 60s_F, Swee and i arrived Tolmie S.P. for a visit - hike and picnic.

The Lower Parking (spaces for ~15 vehicles) was full. We parked at the Upper Parking (spaces for ~15 vehicles) which was partially full. When we left ~13:15 (and high 70s_F), the parking "situation" was still the same; as some vehicles left, while others came. Similarly for the visitors - mostly families with children; some went hiking the Tolmie S.P. trail system, some to the beach for Shellfishing, beach-combing, or for walk. Those people that we encountered during our hike of the "Four Cedars Outer Loop" (~1.8 miles) were friendly and courteous. And not once did we feel the Park was "crowded". Everyone's out in the Park were doing their own "thing" .. and having a good time 😀

The "Four Cedars Outer Loop" trail was well-maintained, clean and in good condition; some roots, some stones, mostly "dry" dirt .. only a few mud puddles (all easily passable).

The forest was lovely .. and reading the few Interpretive Signs helped me better appreciate the beauty of the Forest eco-system .. i was especially "touched" by the history of the :Old Growth 4-Prong Cedar .. can only hope that it will be around for many many more years!

Only saw scatterings of berries, mushrooms, and flowers .. better luck next time? :P

Happy Trails Everyone!
