The Middle Fork road is in excellent condition except as noted by many for the potholes just over the bridge before the parking lot.
The trail is also in excellent condition, the first couple hundred yards having been recently worked over and the rest mostly forested trail. It moves right along about 700 ft/mile as I recall, there are a couple of sturdily-build stair bits, and soon you are at the viewpoint.
It was misty and cloudy the day we were there, so I include a panorama of the stream at the decently sized parking lot where there are picnic tables, a (full at the time) dumpster, and a vault toilet. The campground back across the bridge has well-spaced sites, even a campground host.
