Trip Report

South Whidbey State Park — Saturday, Feb. 6, 2021

Puget Sound and Islands > Whidbey Island

The beach trail was still closed due to a washout, so we made due on the Ridge trail to Wilbert and Ancient Cedar and then back down to the Hobbit trail. Ridge trail specifically was extremely muddy. Like, suck the boots off your feet muddy. I'd hate to do it in trainers, and was almost wishing for my gaiters.

Very quiet day for a Saturday; we only passed a few folks on the upper trails. Bathrooms were open and stocked, which was a treat. This would be a fun park to stay at in the summer with all the campgrounds! We found a few little private picnic spots with BBQ pits as well.
