The snow is continuous and though not difficult it does require snowshoes or skis. There are a few trails at Pearrygin State Park which are open to hiking/running without snowshoes but we did not take those.
The day started overcast but brightened up and we were thankful for our sunglasses. We did a clockwise circumnavigation of the lake which required a mile or so of road walking to get back to our car.
The trail is super well groomed. Not signed particularly well but I’d say it is near impossible to get lost. We visited an old homestead, saw many animal tracks, and enjoyed the cloud and hillside interplay to the north.
All told our loop was just under six miles with negligible elevation gain.
