Narbeck Wetland Sanctuary — Sunday, Nov. 29, 2020

Puget Sound and Islands > Seattle-Tacoma Area

Another wonderful day to visit a wetland sanctuary!

I deeply value places like these as they are such important habitat for birds and wildlife. The perimeter trail takes you around the whole sanctuary just be sure to follow the sidewalk on the south side (75th st) and west side (Seaway blvd) to complete the full loop. The trails here are in great condition and we noticed someone may have even used a blower to clear the fallen leaves off of the trail. The birds were very active enjoying the sunshine today and we were dazzled by a very vocal female Belted kingfisher flying around near the grassy viewpoint. The boardwalk through the wetlands is slippery right now when moisture is present so just a word of caution. Also the restrooms here remain closed.
