We set out from the far west parking lot over the boardwalk toward the Maple Loop. We encountered some pretty muddy trails through this section; we were definitely glad to have some robust hiking boots on. Did both loops of big leaf maple leaf-lined trails, then head up toward the center of the park, and, due to waning light, trekked back through the campground to our car. Lots of fall leaves (though many are on the ground at this point) and quite a few mushrooms. This was our first time here, but based on the proximity and feel of being in the woods, we'll be back.
