Trip Report

Twisp Pass via Dagger Lake — Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2020

North Cascades > North Cascades Highway - Hwy 20
Dagger Lake at sunset

This was right in the middle of my 5 night solo trek through the North Cascades. Check out the full report here.

From North Fork, trail gains some elevation to Dagger Lake.  Trail is a mix of western wa pnw forest and nice.  Dagger is pretty but may not be the best water option.  Stock up where you can.  Once you hit the pass and start dropping into eastern wa, the temperature increases and the trail opens up with multiple burns.  The river trail is a light roller with some chunky footing in spots.  It also hugs a forest service road.  Neither are super interesting after you drop down off the pass.

Night 3 - Dagger Lake

Night 4 - War Creek Trailhead

bacon cheddar grits
