Trip Report

Devil's Dome Loop — Friday, Sep. 4, 2020

North Cascades > North Cascades Highway - Hwy 20

Started at the East Bank Trailhead on Friday at 2 pm, made it to a meadow between Devils Park and McMillan Park. Multiple creek options to refill water between TH and Devils Park.

Saturday made it to Devils Dome and we were able to refill our water 2 times. There were two small creek crossings that we filled water before Devils Pass, we were told we would not find water from Devils Pass to Devils Dome - this was a mostly accurate statement. If one wanted to go east towards Deception Pass, there is a lake you could hike to get water, we were told this will add 3 miles so we decided to just fill up to water capacity when we were on Jackita Ridge trail.

Sunday hiked from Devils Dome back to East Bank Trailhead. It was a long day but honestly wasn't that bad. There is a creek just west of devils dome that we refilled first thing Sunday morning and we refilled multiple times by the time we made it back to TH. We were unlucky and did not get a permit to camp in the National park so that is why we decided to have such a long Sunday.

The "scariest" part was going down the scree. Multiple times I had to tell myself to not freeze and just keep walking.

According to both of our phones this hike was actually 47 miles and closer to 11k gain total. It was an amazing weekend and I recommend this hike a thousand times over.
