Fremont Lookout — Sunday, Aug. 16, 2020

Mount Rainier Area > NE - Sunrise/White River

We arrived at Sunrise around 8:00 and begin hiking around 8:30 a.m. The parking lot was about 60% full. The mountain was in view for the entirety of the trip up. We ate lunch and enjoyed the views from the lookout. The area was fairly busy, but everyone was able to safely social distance. Most people we passed along the trail were wearing masks. After the lookout we made a short scramble further up for a different view. After you climb up further you'll be on the ridgeline. It was a beautiful, but very windy. We took the Wonderland trail most of the way back for a change of scenery. The trail was beautiful and wildflowers were still in bloom. Overall the trip took about 3.5 hours, but we were at the look out for quite awhile.
