Beautiful little stroll today! We left the trailhead at 9am (it was full by this point, just a few roadside spots available) on this beautiful Monday morning. We had a nice walk up to Comet Falls (we kept thinking we were "there" at the several other small falls along the way, but keep going, Comet Falls is massive!), then continued on to Van Trump Park, walking until we hit the end of the maintained trail. Then we backtracked and headed a little ways towards Mildred Point, just to where the trail crosses over the stream. We scrambled the rocks to the smaller falls at this junction, then headed back to the parking area, stopping for a couple swims along the way.
The trail was definitely crowded, but manageable - and it was at capacity, as there isn't an abundance of parking available other than the small lot & a few roadside pullouts.
We reached the car again at 1pm, for a total of a nice leisurely 4-hour stroll with many stops along the way.
