Hurricane Hill is still closed for goat relocation, so opted for an extension of the Sunrise Point trail from the Hurricane Ridge Visitor Center.
Within just the short trails behind the parking lot, there were a couple deer and marmots running across the trail. The trail to Sunrise Point was in good condition, but the clouds obstructed the normally expansive views.
Continuing onto the Hurricane to Klahane Ridge connector, we followed the ridge watching the winding road below us drop lower. At the base of Mt Angeles, I turned left to check out the trail (not on all maps, but signposted). It winds through a few silent and foggy meadows before getting to some very loose scree. I couldn't find a notable trail past a few cairns in the meadow, and probs wouldn't have made it far without proper gear. Not wanting to add to the erosion, I made my way down and headed back to the parking lot.
