Puget Sound and Islands > Seattle-Tacoma Area

ARRIVING: If you are coming from Seattle and would like to take the ferry, note that there aren't as many ferries running during this time and run every 2 hours from Seattle. They fill up really quickly as well, so I suggest trying to get to the ferry at least an hour ahead of time. We tried to catch the 11:25AM ferry at 10:45AM and it was already full. Also, there are three entrances to the forest according to the GPS, we went to the west entrance.

TRAIL: The trails are clear and wind into the forest. There are quite a few different intersections so you can go to different paths. We didn't go too far into the forest before we found a large field and set up at a picnic table. I think if we spent more time on the trails, we would be able to explore a lot more, but this is also a great area to hang out and have a picnic. Mostly flat trails, with a slight incline going towards the large field.

DIFFICULTY: 1/5, easy, more for a stroll and picnic, lots to see.
