Jolly Mountain via Sasse Ridge Trail — Friday, Jul. 3, 2020

Snoqualmie Region > Salmon La Sac/Teanaway

Hiked on July 3rd with an 11 year old that doesn't have great hiking boots. There were some snow fields and one was pretty difficult to get up for her, but I didn't have a problem even though I didn't have my trekking poles. The snow probably has another 2 weeks before it is either all gone or just not an issue at all.

The drive up was scary if you don't like sharp edges and although I got up with a low clearance vehicle there were rocks in the road that scraped the bottom of my car a few times, it definitely would have been easier with a high clearance, but it isn't necessary.

The hike itself was pretty easy and offers incredible views all the way up, wild flowers were blooming and the forest is starting to grow back from the wild fire, where you can still see plenty of burnt trees during the hike. I made a rookie mistake and forgot sunscreen. I forgot bug spray too, but the bugs weren't bad.

I would definitely do this hike again, the Sasse Trail makes it really easy to get up to the peak.
