Trip Report

Kanaskat-Palmer State Park — Friday, May. 22, 2020

Puget Sound and Islands > Seattle-Tacoma Area

We went around 3pm on Friday before Memorial day weekend scoring expecting many people.

To our surprise there were only 5 cars (it's a pretty large lot). We saw a couple of families hanging out by the picnic area and one leaving when we got in. We did the trail in clockwise direction and did not see any other humans.

There's a bit of a climb in one place but easily doable. The trail is very narrow so don't expect to maintain social distance if you have to pass someone.

There's some bugs, a lot of foliage, andpand flowers throughout the trail. The trail was pretty muddy in spots so wear something more appropriate than running shoes.

Overall, a much needed, safe outing for us.
