Headed out here for a quick adventure, have done this one in the winter as a snowshoe, and wanted to see how it looked with the snow melted. Started at the Salmon la Sac Campgound, trailhead is well marked.
We did not go all the way to Cooper Lake, we just hiked along the river and at about 3 miles in we found a great lunch spot right by the river.
There are a few trees down, but not difficult to cross over.
The snow, at least up until the 3 mile mark, was just a couple of patches that were not all difficult to cross.
Not much elevation gain on this hike, and right from the beginning there is some great river viewpoints.
