Figured I'd start from the connector trail at Blakely Harbor, but the small parking lot there was also closed when we got there at 10:30am. Fortunately there were plenty of pullouts nearby, and few other cars.
Followed the connector trail to Fort Ward, doing a loop before going down to the beach. The negative tide exposed some interesting sea life, plus there were lots of (noisy) seals just off shore near the fish farm, and plenty of birds (incl Bald Eagles and a Kingfisher).
Trails were all clear, just a few muddy spots. OpenStreetMap had most of the trails, but this map was useful as well.
Encountered over a dozen parties on the trails, incl some on bikes, but no one on the beach.
