My Backyard — Tuesday, Mar. 31, 2020

Puget Sound and Islands
Our "social distancing" rabbits!

As I stepped outside today to check out our yard, many birds were enjoying the sunshine and our feeders! A golden-crowned sparrow was bathing in one of the bird baths. Pine siskins, goldfinches, a Bewick's wren, black-capped chickadees, a chestnut-backed chickadee, juncos and house finches were seen! The male goldfinches were beautiful and dressed in their breeding plumage! There were many blooming plants! One of our 10 rhododendron  along the driveway has started to bloom! They are beautiful when blooming, but mean many hours of trail work as we begin "deheading" them after the bloom! In my walk I saw the need for many hours of maintenance to clean the flower beds before the weeds start to go to seed!

We had bunnies show up last year for the first time. Nice little guys but I had to put chicken wire around the beans and peas to keep them from eating them. I enjoyed your backyard.

Thank you! I am glad you enjoyed our backyard. We are blessed with many blooming and "about to bloom" plants, birds, bunnies and squirrels! We noticed yesterday that the bunnies have started to build a tunnel under our rose hedge along our short patio wall. This is probably not good! They are enjoying the new leaves on the rose hedge! Not so good either!
