I was in the mood for hike that wasn't on the snow so I headed up the Dosewallips River. I arrived to an empty parking lot and got going just after 8 am.
As I headed up the old road there were ample signs of winter storm damage in the part of downed trees. The way trail through the old washout was effected by it is still passable but I wouldn't linger here as the embankment is unstable in places.
Approaching the Park boundary I started encountering a lot of trees across the trail but nothing of much consequence. There is one pretty good sized fir across the trail but there is plenty of space to go under it.
There is a messy rock slide with some tree bits in it at the top of the hill just before the basalt cliffs that lead to Dosewallips Falls. Mind your step and you should be fine.
Trail was in pretty decent shape from the falls up to the old trail head. I continued on up the West Fork of the Dosewallips and veered off onto the Main Fork of the Dosewallips at the Dose Forks Junction.
The trail is in nice shape between the Ranger Station and Calypso Falls although there was one large blow down to navigate and some snow on the trail just before the falls. I reached the falls a bit before noon, had some lunch, took some photos and headed back to the car. I didn't see anyone else until I reached the trail head at 4:30.
