Puget Sound and Islands

Yay!  Little guys first hike using his own power.  I needed something flat and short and this was perfect.   The trail is a soft surface loop located in the wetland forest off of the turnaround near the parking lot.  You'll cross over streams that feed the wetland on two well built bridges and the wetland on a boardwalk amidst cottonwoods, alders, and salmonberry.  There's also great views of Lake Washington as the trail skirts it to the southwest.  You can access the edge of the lake here as well. We saw Canadian geese, an Osprey, and robins.  Afterwards we took advantage of the playground as the daylight faded away.  In a quirk I've found common with the city of Bellevue, the trail is alternately listed as 3/4 mile and .02 mile.  The .02 seems accurate. See link below for more information.
