We spent the day on San Juan Island hiking various trails.
We started with the Mount Finlayson loop that connects with the Jakle's lagoon trail, which we extended to Cattle point by following the bluff trail. This was an early trail so we got lucky with wildlife: we crossed a few deer multiple times while on our way to Mount Finlayson, then we saw a bald eagle very close to us from the bluff trail. Finally, we watched several seals playing in the sea weeds (or having breakfast, unclear) beyond the Cattle point lighthouse.
Our second target was the Lime kiln point state park loop that ascends to the quarry before returning back along the coast to explore a few lime kilns, including one that is still in good shape and finishes at the lighthouse. It's pretty short but the initial accent was steeper than expected, so that was interesting.
We did a snack pause at the Wescott Bay Shellfish company shack before a short ascent to Young Hill from the English camp to get some great views of British Columbia. The main trail up is gradual and well maintained. I've read of and saw a much faster and steeper trail but we decided to keep to the main trail for the way down to avoid the sun that was hitting strong at that point. The main trail is in the forest, which seemed like a more pleasant option.
Finally, we explored the sculpture garden at Roche harbor. That was quite an interesting experience although we sped up in some uncovered sections because of the sun. There is quite a lot to see and the exploratory format was a nice touch.

I don't see a listing for exactly what I did but the Briggs Lake and Young Hill trails were included.
I pieced together a 9 mile one-way hike, hitting 3 hills and seeing tremendous variety of trees and environments. I'll post the Gaia route map picture.
Started at the new Cady Mountain trailhead, off 3 Corner Lake Road. Took this new, well built trail up Cady, then entered the Mitchell Hill forest area. This includes Briggs Lake and lots of other trails and old roads. Descending from Mitchell Hill, I then entered the National Park land and climbed up Young Hill for the best views of the day. From Young Hill it was an easy hike down to the main visitor area at English Camp. After circling Bell Point, I took a left and ended up at Wescott Bay. From there it was some road walking until I was nearly at Roche Harbor, where my wife picked me up along the road and we headed to Roche for lunch.
It's great that the Land Bank is conserving new areas like this huge chunk of Cady Mountain. From reading the signs, there are more trails planned in the upcoming years. There is a lot of land up there to route trails for sure.

Parked at English Camp (visitor center was still closed for the season, as was the American Camp VC). The hike goes through beautiful forest at a somewhat steep grade with excellent tread. The cemetery and information signs along the route are interesting and the views at the top of the hill are some of the best on the island.

We arrived to the Young Hill trailhead (as marked on Google Maps) at about 9:15AM. Today was a Wednesday. There was only one other car parked on the side of the road. We decided to use the road trailhead as we had visited English Camp on a past trip, and we were looking for more of a quick hike to start the day. The cemetery is only a few minutes past the trailhead. It is a very solemn place. It was nice to see that people come by and place Union Jacks by the grave markers in honor of those buried there. After the cemetery, the trail climbs gradually. It doesn't take too long to reach the top of the hill. The first viewpoint is very nice, but the summit is only a minute or so past it, and its view is even better. Make sure to look to the south and try to spot the Alpacas at Krystal Acres. We eventually made it back to the road at around 10:15AM, with the total hike lasting 1.6mi.
