8/224 Arrived at TH 8:45, no other cars. Trail is in good shape and easy to follow. There is one water crossing that was not a problem and one area of what looked like wet clay, but also not a problem. Trail through the canyon along the creek does have a few narrow spots, but very doable. Weather was perfect, felt a little fallish. There really isn't much access to the first lake, continue on trail to fish hatchery cabin and second lake. The access to the second lake is via a pretty rickety bridge section. We crossed part of it and decided the last section looked worse. however, I do see from other reviews that people have crossed all sections.

Nice hike where, in my opinion, the journey was better than the destination. (The trail did not end up going to some of she places you can spy on your way up.) Trail was overgrown in places, making it a wet ride the morning after a storm. We hiked the day after a huge rainstorm and the trail appeared to have been washed out in places, presumably from this storm. But it was easy to regain the trail after a few seconds. All in all a nice way to explore the area.

Enjoyable solo hike to the twin lakes. single established campsite at the forest service cabin offers no water access. over the fish weirs to upper twin lake offers a singular camp site with limited water access before trail ends. Mosquitos were very present and a major nuisance. Beautiful views and zero trail traffic, however if swimming or water enjoyment is on your list I would steer away. There was zero lakeside water access on the lower lake and very minimal on upper lake.

Nice short hike to treelined lakes. On the way, views of Crook Mtn, lovely forest, rushing stream. To cross stream before heading up stream, go up the stream about 25 yards, there’s an easy crossing across some branches. Lots of flowers (orange paintbrush, saxifrage, penstemon, dogbane, lupine, sandwort (thyme-leaf), bluebells, spring beauty, western star, queens cup, spring gold (parsley), false solomons seal, alpine mitrewort, phlox, thimble berry). Mosquitoes around but not too bad.
