Arrived ~11am on an overcast Sunday and circled once and found a parking spot. Perfect hike for our 6YO mild-moderate hiker - lots of slugs, caterpillars, and mushrooms to spot. Agree the 0.7mile viewpoint is a good turnaround spot if needed, as the trail difficulty increases slightly after. Worth the 100 stairs down toward the end for the best waterfall view - the upper viewpoint doesn’t compare. There’s not really any turn-off spots for a long rest or bite except toward the beginning of the hike near the riverside. A classic 2-hour waterfall hike within an hour of Seattle!

This trail is narrow in spots and there are lots of exposed tree roots and rocks.  It is well maintained and easy to follow.  While you are watching where you walk don’t forget to stop and look around you.  The scenery is beautiful and quiet.  The big tree and the bridge over the canyon were my favorite.

Go early to get a parking spot.  Pack water and a snack so you can extend your stay.

On August 28, 2025, my friends and I came to Twin Falls to hike the trail, and on the way back to our cars, I dropped my wallet but didn't realize it until I had already left. It is a blue Goyard wallet with my ID and other important things in there. The name should be Johnson Nguyen. If anyone ends up finding it, I would really appreciate if you could reach out to me via imessage at (206)-247-5721.

Hike started at 5:15 PM
Left around before 9PM

Searching for someone that was at Twin Falls today.  I took an easy hike today (8/22/25) along the Twin Falls trail with my brother that has had both his knees replaced.  He wanted to do the whole trail so we parked his new rig at the bottom and drove around to the upper trailhead in my rig.  When we got to his rig at the bottom he had a note on the windshield stating that the author of the note had hit his vehicle.  The note included the person's name and phone number.  However the writing was so poor and we are unable to interpret the phone number.  We get enough of the number to know that the person was from the Memphis Tennessee area, which is confirmed by the partial receipt on the back side of the note.  However, all the possible interpretations of the undecipherable digits have lead to dead numbers.  So I am hoping that someone might know of anyone with a Memphis area code phone number that was hiking at Twin Falls today between 10am and noon.  Thanks.

Picture, not of Twin Falls, but of the alpine landscape off the PCT near Summit Chief. I am not going to post a picture of the note with the person's name and number.

This is a good short day option for a weekday hike.  Come then and you will be able to find easy parking although don't expect solitude.  Don't forget you need a Discover Pass.  Trail is in good shape just a bit more knobbly than in years past and one blow down to limber under.  The trail does enough up down, up down, on the way to the turn around bridge that you feel you get a mini workout.  I went just a bit beyond the main bridge to catch the view of the upper falls.  There are a couple of benches there if you want a sit down break.  Plus there's quite a few spur trails to the river's edge if you want to stop and stay a while.  The trail is shaded so cool in the morning, and there are even a couple of damp spots.  Lots of water noise to add to the back ground so if you take your time you will feel nature start to works its soothing magic.  The beginning of some fall color in the Vine maples framing the classic view of the falls from the view point platform.  Give it a week or two and that should make a lovely picture.  I did note the trunk of the large Doug fir at the platform is now right on the railing so not sure what's going to happen there next, pretty sure the tree will win in a push/shove contest.
